Job Title: Senior Java Software Engineer (2 Positions)
Location: Canberra, ACT or Brisbane, QLD
Contract Term: Until 30 June 2026, with 2x 12-month extension options
Clearance Required: Baseline Security Clearance

About the Role:
We're seeking two experienced Senior Java Software Engineers to join a dynamic team delivering high-impact digital solutions. You'll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining complex enterprise applications that support critical client-facing services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead software development across all stages of the SDLC
- Design and implement scalable Java-based solutions using Spring Boot, JPA, and RESTful APIs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analysts, testers, and architects
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and code reviews
- Manage release and deployment processes
- Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to continuous improvement
- Ensure documentation and knowledge transfer in line with best practices
Technical Skills Required:
- Java 8+, Spring (Boot, Data, REST), J2EE, Hibernate, SOAP, SQL, Oracle
- Experience with ReactJS, JavaScript, and cloud technologies
- Strong understanding of systems integration and web services
- Familiarity with SAFe Agile methodology and release/change management
Desirable:
- Experience with configuration management tools and practices
- Exposure to government or large-scale enterprise environments
