We are seeking a Senior Java Developer for a contract role with a leading banking client in Sydney. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge financial technology projects, leveraging the latest Java technologies and best practices in software development.

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance applications using Java technologies (e.g., Embedded Tomcat, Spring Boot).
• Implement and maintain web services and integrate with various banking systems.
• Apply software design patterns, system design principles, and application architecture best practices.
• Ensure application security by following OWASP Top 10 guidelines and industry standards.
• Work with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools to streamline deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, security, and infrastructure teams.
• Troubleshoot and optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security.

• Tertiary qualifications relevant to IT or Banking.
• Strong knowledge of Java and associated frameworks (Spring Boot, Embedded Tomcat).
• Experience in designing and developing RESTful web services.
• Understanding of SQL Server (highly regarded).
• Experience with C programming (highly regarded).
• Familiarity with automation platforms (e.g., Puppet) is a plus.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices and tools.
• Strong grasp of application security best practices.
