Location: Macquarie Park, NSW (Hybrid 3 days onsite)
Contract Duration: Initial contract until December 19 (with potential extension)
This is a contract role based in Macquarie Park, offering the opportunity to work on high-impact initiatives that span HR data transformation, enterprise integration, and cloud data enablement.
Role Overview:
As a Data Architect, you will design and implement robust data architecture solutions across a suite of enterprise initiatives, with a strong focus on HR systems integration and analytics enablement. You'll collaborate with project teams, business stakeholders, and technical leads to align data models and platforms with evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect scalable and secure enterprise data solutions across multiple concurrent projects
- Lead integration design involving Workday, PeopleSoft, and other HR systems
- Build and optimise data models to support workforce, payroll, and HR analytics
- Design and manage data pipelines using ETL/ELT best practices and cloud-native services
- Apply strong hands-on experience in Snowflake, including tuning, security, and data sharing
- Work closely with business and reporting teams to enable self-service analytics using Power BI or Tableau
- Engage with data governance, metadata standards, and platform architecture initiatives across the portfolio
- Translate complex technical solutions into clear business outcomes and communicate across stakeholders
Key Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture, modelling, and integration
- Direct experience with HR data projects and integration of platforms like Workday, PeopleSoft, or similar
- Strong expertise in Snowflake is mandatory
- Skilled in SQL, Python, and/or dbt for transformation logic
- In-depth understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, and cloud data platforms
- Demonstrated experience designing HR domain models (e.g., workforce, position, benefits, payroll)
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and enabling self-service reporting frameworks
- Previous experience in higher education or with university systems is highly desirable
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
