As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing and developing complex mechanical systems, ensuring seamless integration across multiple components. Your expertise in Design for Manufacture will allow you to collaborate closely with production teams, transforming concepts into robust, high-performance prototypes. You will play a key role in refining designs for manufacturability, optimising processes, and contributing to a streamlined assembly.

Beyond technical proficiency, your leadership skills will be critical in guiding a team of mechanical engineers and technicans. You will oversee task tracking, provide mentorship, and set best practices to ensure high-quality outcomes. A systems-thinking approach is essential, as you will be working with larger mechanical systems, understanding their interdependencies, and troubleshooting issues with a first-principles mindset. Your ability to interpret and produce accurate drawings with GD&T will ensure smooth handover to the shop floor, guaranteeing precision in production. Due to Defence security requirements, ideally you hold a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance. We will also consider Baseline cleared candidates who are willing and able to upgrade.
