Our client is a leading service provider to the aviation industry and they own, manage, operate and maintain a large number of technology assets. They operate within a very interesting space and always have a number of exciting IT projects on the go.
Their technical monitoring system (SCADA) has been in use for quite some time, they are in the process of replacing this with a new SCADA system. As part of this modernisation project, they are seeking a SCADA Systems Engineer to come on board for a contract until 30 June 2021.
Within this role you will:
Provide advanced systems engineering and subject matter expertise for implementation of the new system.
Develop project engineering artefacts and system support documents such as specifications, designs, test plans, system configuration plans and maintenance procedures.
Reporting on the progress of deliverables and products.
Identify, monitor, mitigate and communicate project and safety risks, issues and dependencies.
Maintain relationships with other Airservices and project staff to ensure that there is effective coordination of all activities in support of organisational and project objectives.
Experience with technologies, devices, applications and data communication protocols typically used for SCADA systems.
Good practical understanding of electronic and electrical circuits (fuses, relays, batteries, low voltage AC/DC etc.).
Ability to provide systems engineering expertise for the delivery of technology projects, including preparation of technical documentation such as designs, specifications, test plans, user manuals and maintenance procedures.
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and work under limited direction to achieve positive outcomes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills, with a proven history of being able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
An engineering degree in electronics, electrical or telecommunications, or other approved engineering discipline, from an Australian Tertiary Institution or certified equivalent international qualification acceptable for registration with the Board of Professional Engineers Queensland.
