About the role:
As Senior DevOps Engineer, you have the crucial role of leading the build and maintenance of applications for our first responders to:
manage critical incidents and state-wide events (including natural disasters)
support proactive policing in the community
assist specialist units tackling issues such as youth offending, road safety, and cybercrime
what you and your team create will transform modern frontline policing

Your duties will include:
Implement continuous integration / delivery tooling and processes to drive and improve technology products, services and platforms
Lead the build, test, and deployment of software applications to meet business needs, aligned to product roadmaps
Work with domain and solution architects to research technical solutions to business problems
Provide clear and concise specialist advice to relevant stakeholders
Collaborate with product specialists and business subject matter experts to effectively translate documented business requirements into fit-for-purpose technical solutions
As the successful applicant, you will have:
Tertiary qualifications in Information and Communications Technology or directly related discipline
Significant hands-on experience in software engineering, within an agile delivery environment
Advanced skills and knowledge in continuous integration / continuous delivery toolsets and processes
Demonstrated experience effectively engaging, managing and working with senior stakeholders
Application development expertise in a variety of programming languages and platforms, including modern low code platforms (e.g. Microsoft PowerApps).
Requirements and relevant information:
The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen. OR Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
