Contract
We are seeking an APS6 Desktop Support (VIP) professional to uplift the digital experience of a national public health organisation. Operating within a shared‑service environment, this role plays a central part in ensuring staff across executive, operational and travelling workforce contexts receive high‑quality, responsive technology support.
In this position, you will act as a trusted liaison between the organisation, shared‑service partners and managed service providers. You will provide proactive, high‑touch support to senior executives and VIP users, ensuring their technology needs are met with discretion, professionalism and minimal disruption. You will also coordinate day‑to‑day incident and request workflows, support technology rollouts and uplift staff capability across collaboration and workplace tools.
The role includes responsibility for ensuring staff travelling internationally are fully ICT‑ready, with secure devices, appropriate access, and clear guidance. You will contribute to improving processes, documentation and user experience, helping establish a consistent and customer‑centred digital environment.
What you bring
You bring extensive experience delivering high‑level ICT support in complex environments and pride yourself on exceptional customer service. You are confident working directly with executives, able to communicate clearly and manage sensitive or urgent technical issues with care and professionalism. Your technical capability spans end‑user compute, Microsoft 365, mobility (including iOS), AV support and networking fundamentals, supported by relevant qualifications and/or industry certifications.
You are proactive, organised and able to work with limited direction, drawing on strong analytical skills to resolve issues, identify patterns and support continuous service improvement. You are experienced in collaborating with managed service providers, maintaining clear SOPs and knowledge articles, and you understand the governance and rigour required in a secure, public‑sector ICT environment.
